affirmed that the launch of the new Jorge Chavez International Airport and the Chancay Megaport will demand thousands of jobs starting next year.
During the signing of employment contracts involving more than 800 people who arrived at the Employment Center, Minister Maurate said that they are talking with operators of the new Jorge Chavez International Airport and the Chancay Megaport to review the profiles that will be demanded for those new jobs.
"We will sign agreements and the Employment Center, of course, will be very active in hiring for this labor-related demand. We were already told that there will be a need for workers who have digital skills and who speak English," Maurate indicated.
"Peru is on a good path; the Jorge Chavez International Airport alone will account for 0.6% of gross domestic product (GDP), taking into account that it will be, possibly, the most modern airport in Latin America," he added.
"Of course, Peruvians, youth, engineers, (professionals from) all careers have to be preparing for this labor demand," Maurate concluded.
