Peru: General Government's investment up 21.5% in December 2020

The General Government's investment increased 21.5% in December 2020, compared to the same month a year earlier, recording a positive rate for the third consecutive month, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) has reported.

This result was driven by an increase in the three levels of government: national, regional, and local.

According to the BCR, the execution of projects and activities within the framework of the Reconstruction with Changes was worthy of note in the last month of 2020.

Less noteworthy was the execution of projects and activities under Arranca Peru (Get off the Ground, Peru) and those in response to COVID-19.

Finally, the issuing entity reported that, in December 2020, investment by the National Government grew 21.9%, while that by regional and local governments increased 11.4% and 26.8%, respectively.
