The resignation of Hernan Condori Machado as Health Minister of Peru was made official by the Executive Branch on Sunday.

The resignation was accepted by Supreme Resolution No. 120-2022-PCM, which was published today in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

According to the resolution, the Executive Branch thanked him for the services rendered to the Nation.

As is known, Parliament censured Condori during a plenary session last Thursday.

71 parliamentarians voted in favor, 32 against, and 13 abstained.

Condori was questioned over allegations that he was exercising the profession in an inappropriate manner by promoting the sale of a product attributing to it medicinal properties which had not been verified or certified.

The censure motion also showed that the appointment of Hernan Condori "provoked unanimous rejection across the country's medical community," referring to the criticism by the Peruvian College of Physicians of the government official.

The aforementioned resolution was signed by the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo and Prime Minister Anibal Torres.
