The Executive Branch has stipulated to include the Ministry of Culture or its representative in the working group to support the implementation of the vaccination process against coronavirus (COVID-19).

This was established by Ministerial Resolution No. 004-2021-PCM, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

According to the regulation, the Ministry of Culture —through its Directorate of Peoples in Situation of Isolation and Initial Contact— is responsible for arranging and promoting actions aimed at protecting the life and health of peoples in situation of isolation and/or initial contact.

In addition, the resolution provides that the Ministry of Culture will appoint its representative within three business days following its publication.

Thus, the above-mentioned group will be made up of the President of the Council of Ministers or her representative, who presides over it; the head of the Health Ministry (Minsa); as well as ministers or representatives of the following sectors: Defense, Interior, Transport and Communications, Economy and Finance, Education, and Culture.

Additionally, the group will be composed of the Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) Executive-President, as well as a representative of the National Assembly of Regional Governments (ANGR), and the Business Solutions to Poverty association.

The aim of the working group is to coordinate and articulate efforts aimed at implementing the vaccination for the prevention of COVID-19.
