The Public Ministry/Attorney General's Office on Friday reaffirmed its commitment to acting objectively in defense of legality and human rights of all Peruvian citizens.
Via a statement posted on Twitter, the institution indicated that the crime investigation duty is its constitutional competence, which is fulfilled with autonomy and independence —without any type of political, economic, or media interference.
"The powers of the State, constitutional bodies, as well as public and private institutions, are reminded that the Public Ministry is an autonomous constitutional body," it expressed.
The statement by the Attorney General's Office was issued following the principle of separation of powers and respect for the current constitutional framework.
