01:00 | Chimbote (Ancash region), Aug. 3.
The
Regional Health Directorate (Diresa) in Ancash will send 32 rapid response teams to targeted communities in the provinces of Santa, Casma and Huarmey to look after COVID-19 cases.
This intervention entails a joint effort with the North Pacific Health Network. Besides, it will be supported by 16 mobile units of the
Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and 8 ambulances of the Regional Government of Ancash, which will be distributed to both the North and South networks.
Each
rapid response team will consist of a doctor, a nurse, a nursing assistant and a driver, who will take them to the hotspot locations.
The aim of this initiative is to identify COVID-19 cases in a timely manner, provide them with early treatment and, thus, avoid complications.
The areas requiring intervention will be identified using the coronavirus heat map, which shows the areas with the most active cases and the population at risk.
