The event —organized by the Peruvian Consulate General with support from the city's Prefecture— took place at Ruins Park, a tourist landmark well known for its amazing view of the Carioca metropolis.
Peruvians, Brazilians, and tourists from other countries were among the attendees.

The festival lasted eight hours and included cultural events such as photo exhibition, movie screenings, and Peruvian music shows.
Craftsmen were present, as well as 17 stands
offering Peruvian food with a varied
gastronomic selection, which delighted attendees.
Delicious food
Apart from the famous
Ceviche, there was a great variety of dishes like Anticuchos and Picarones.
Pisco Sour,
Chilcanos, and Peruvian beers could also be found at the site.
Consul General Hugo Flores said it was the first time a Peruvian event of this scale had taken place in the coastal city.
The massive public reception was due to the great support received from the local press, which included a complete coverage of the event on TV Globo, he added.
Given the immense success of the first Festival, authorities from Rio de Janeiro have proposed the Consulate General to hold this event every year, establishing July 28th as Peruvian Festival Day at Ruins Park.
