In just 11 months of existence, Clubhouse is among the nine most downloaded apps by Peruvians from Apple's App Store.

Its exclusivity to communicate with other users without writing, sending videos or photos —and the fact that everything is done through voice messages— makes it especially different.

According to App Annie, more than eight million downloads have been reported worldwide in less than a year in the apps market.

According to Alonso Salinas, Director of Communications at MileniumGroup, Clubhouse will soon become a great competitor for other social networks such as TikTok, which during the COVID-19 pandemic has become the most downloaded app by Peruvians, displacing Facebook.

"Clubhouse was born in the middle of a pandemic and is also developing in the midst of this health emergency; perhaps for this reason, when you use this app, you can see that the rooms in Spanish with the highest audience are those related to topics such as entrepreneurship, coaching, sports, health, and personal branding, among other issues which have arisen in the midst of these circumstances," he specified.

To use Clubhouse you not only need to download the app, which at the moment is only available for iOS. It also requires the invitation of a member to access the thematic rooms and participate in conversations of your interest. Everything is in real time.

Clubhouse was launched in Silicon Valley in March 2020 and is used by celebrities such as: Elon Musk (the founder of Tesla and SpaceX); Mark Zuckerberg (the creator of Facebook); rappers Drake, Kanye West; and media star Oprah Winfrey.

The app is currently valued above US$1 billion.
