Bolivia, Argentina and Colombia congratulate Keiko Fujimori on presidential runoff victory

Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz Pereira, Argentine President Javier Milei, and Colombian President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella congratulated Popular Force Party candidate Keiko Fujimori on her victory in Peru's presidential runoff.

The Bolivian Head of State highlighted on social media the trust that Peruvians placed in Fujimori at the ballot box.

"I express my respect for the democratic will of the Peruvian people and my commitment to continue strengthening the ties of integration, cooperation, and development between our nations for the benefit of our peoples," Paz Pereira pointed out on X.

"I wish her every success in the responsibility of guiding Peru's future," he added.

Fujimori responded to the message by expressing confidence that they will be able to work together to "strengthen cooperation between our countries and continue consolidating freedom, democracy, and development in our region."


Argentina

Meanwhile, Argentine President Javier Milei congratulated Keiko Fujimori on "her historic victory in Peru."

"The Peruvian people have joined Colombia and sent a clear message: the region wants to return to the path of freedom and security," he expressed on social media.

Likewise, Colombian President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella extended his sincere congratulations to Keiko Fujimori on her victory, which makes her Peru's virtual president.

De la Espriella said the Peruvian people had spoken at the ballot box and entrusted her with the enormous responsibility of leading the country.

He also announced they will work together to strengthen the historic relationship between Colombia and Peru for the benefit of both nations.

"As Colombia's President-elect, I am pleased to know that our countries will be led by governments that share a commitment to defending democracy, freedom, the rule of law, and respect for institutions," he pointed out.

The results of the runoff are currently subject to decentralized proclamation by the Special Electoral Boards.

Afterwards, the National Elections Board (JNE) will issue the official nationwide proclamation of the results of the June 7 election.
