Ipsos: Fujimori 16.6%, Sanchez 12.1%, Belmont 11.8%, Lopez Aliaga 11%, Nieto 10.7%

Polling firm Ipsos Apoyo released exit poll results after the close of Election Day, which was extended until 6:00 p.m.

According to the survey, Keiko Fujimori, presidential candidate of Fuerza Popular (Popular Force), leads with 16.6% of the vote. She is followed by Roberto Sanchez of Juntos por el Peru (Together for Peru), with 12.1%.

In third place is Ricardo Belmont, candidate of Partido Civico Obras (Works Civic Party), with 11.8%, while Rafael Lopez Aliaga of Renovacion Popular (Popular Renewal) obtains 11%.

Meanwhile, Jorge Nieto Montesinos of Partido del Buen Gobierno (Good Governance Party) records 10.7% of the vote.

Further behind are Alfonso Lopez Chau of Ahora Nación (Now Nation), with 7.1%, and Carlos Alvarez of Pais para Todos (A Country for All), with 7%.

The others category accounts for 23.7% of voter preferences.

Ipsos noted that these figures are a preliminary estimate based on surveys conducted with voters leaving polling places and, therefore, do not constitute official results.

The market research firm presented these results through the media outlets Latina and Peru 21.

The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) will release the official results as the vote count progresses.
