Peru's stand at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2026 received a distinction from the Ibero-American Press Correspondents Association (ACPI) in recognition of its contribution to promoting international cultural and gastronomic heritage during one of the world's most important tourism events.

Since January 21, the Peruvian space has become one of the main attractions for thousands of visitors in Madrid, offering them a firsthand look at the South American country's tourism offerings.

The stand, which covers an area of 483 square meters, was designed around the concept "La Yunza: The tree that unites us," inspired by a traditional Peruvian festival symbolizing unity, cultural diversity, and gratitude to the earth.

At the center of the space, a large tree was set up to represent communal gathering and celebration, creating a participatory experience for attendees.

Likewise, throughout the fair, visitors can enjoy live culinary presentations of traditional Peruvian dishes and Pisco in a showcooking area inspired by Moray, a renowned archaeological site located in Cusco region.

The stand also features cultural performances of traditional dances such as Marinera, as well as live mural painting, initiatives that have drawn strong interest from the Spanish public.

This is complemented by an immersive zone showcasing Peru's natural landscapes, including the Andes mountain range, the coastline, and the Amazon, accompanied by aerial images of iconic sites such as the Nasca Lines.

The recognition awarded by the ACPI—an organization that has brought together foreign journalists since 1960—strengthens Peru's positioning as a tourism destination with global reach.

In this regard, PromPeru—an agency under the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur)—noted that participation in FITUR helps promote Peruvian tourism products, identify new opportunities in the Spanish market, and boost the visitor inflow to the country.
