Peru: President Jeri welcomes indigenous community students at Government Palace

The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, greeted students from Peruvian Indigenous communities at the Government Palace on Thursday.

They are taking part in the National Meeting for the Recognition and Valuing of Cultural and Linguistic Diversity, Tinkuy 2025.

The Head of State met with the delegation that visited the Executive Branch headquarters in Lima.

During the visit, the students learned about the Government Palace's history, as well as the various rooms and spaces inside the building.

The top official received a warm greeting from the pupils. He was also photographed with them and received a few gifts.

Tinkuy is the most important intercultural student event promoted by the Ministry of Education (Minedu).

It aims to experience the country's cultural and linguistic diversity. In addition, the children and youth will visit the capital’s main tourist sites.

Through Tinkuy, the aim is to strengthen children’s rights, as well as dialogue and reflection on an Intercultural Peru.
