"It is a very great honor for me to present these medals for you to wear with pride throughout your lives, and for those who are no longer with us," Balcazar expressed.

The top official underscored the importance of keeping alive the memory of those who were injured or killed in the line of duty, while recognizing their families' sacrifice.

"Those who were wounded, those who died, and the widows remain so present. Those sorrows must have carried such profound significance," he stated.
