The National Elections Board (JNE) reported that only four electoral alliances remain in the registration process to date, after the Ahora Nacion (Now Nation) alliance withdrew from the race.

As is known, there were initially five alliances that had submitted their requests by August 2.

However, the Ahora Nacion alliance —made up of the Ahora Nacion and Salvemos al Peru (Let's Save Peru) parties— announced its withdrawal.

Therefore, the following remain in the registration process:
Unidad Nacional (National Unity)
Fuerza y Libertad (Strength and Liberty)
Venceremos (We Will Overcome)
El Frente de los Trabajadores y Emprendedores (Workers and Entrepreneurs Front)

JNE's Chair Office Advisor Roman Campos specified that three of these alliances are in the objection stage, while Frente de los Trabajadores y Emprendedores still needs to address observations.

The latter group is made up of the Primero la Gente (People First) and Partido de los Trabajadores y Emprendedores - PTE (Workers and Entrepreneurs Party), which are working on addressing the observations raised by the Political Organizations Registry (ROP).

Procedure stages

The process stipulates that, after the submission of the application, the ROP verifies compliance with the requirements.

It then conducts a comprehensive assessment, raises observations if applicable, and orders the publication of the registration summary in the Official Gazette El Peruano, which marks the start of the objection period.

Invalid objections

ROP Director Felipe Paredes reported that two objections against the Fuerza y Libertad alliance, made up of the Fuerza Moderna (Modern Force) and Batalla Perú (Peru Battle) parties, were declared invalid.

"Every objection must be based on noncompliance with the Political Organizations Law. In this case, it was summarily rejected since it did not fall within that framework," he explained.

Warning about malicious objections

Paredes noted that the JNE has identified the submission of malicious objections, understood as those filed for fraudulent or illegitimate purposes to obstruct the process.

In this regard, he urged political organizations to report such incidents without delay, so that the appropriate legal actions can be taken and the transparency of the 2026 General Elections is ensured.

Training for media outlets

Last Monday, the JNE conducted a training session for journalists from Andina News Agency and the Official Gazette El Peruano on topics related to the electoral process.

Topics covered included electoral alliances, the 2026 electoral calendar, neutrality and state propaganda, the Infogob platform, and the fight against electoral disinformation.
