Peru: President attends arrival ceremony of polar oceanographic vessel B.A.P. Carrasco

The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, participated in the arrival ceremony of the polar oceanographic vessel B.A.P. Carrasco at the Callao Naval Base, following the completion of Peru's 32nd Scientific Campaign in Antarctica.

During this event, the Head of State joined the crew upon their return from a 98-day expedition, during which the South American country conducted 26 scientific studies in fields such as oceanography, geology, biology, and environmental science.

On its official X account, the Presidential Office stated: "Peru strengthens its scientific presence in Antarctica!" highlighting the mission's results and the work carried out by the scientific team.

The mission also included logistical operations at the Machu Picchu Scientific Station, helping consolidate the country's presence on the white continent and reinforce its commitment to scientific research.

The arrival of the B.A.P. Carrasco reflects Peru's commitment to science, research, and environmental protection at the international level.
