The high-ranking official met with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, in Washington, D.C., where the main event took place on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the Peruvian diplomat reaffirmed the importance of continuing negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement, noting that the ninth round in November 2025 achieved significant progress.
Similarly, the Cabinet member conveyed Peru's interest in materializing a potential visit to our country.
Subsequently, Minister De Zela held a bilateral meeting with his Ecuadorian counterpart, Gabriela Sommerfeld, reviewing diplomatic ties with emphasis on the fight against transnational organized crime.
The Peruvian government official also met with Argentine Foreign Affairs Minister Pablo Quirno, discussing a range of issues, including the challenge posed by international organized crime.
In that regard, Minister De Zela stated that our country assigns the highest priority to combating that scourge.
Lastly, he confirmed Peruvian participation, as a special guest nation, in the Buenos Aires Book Fair.
