Peru's BCR: Business expectations remain in optimistic range in March 2026

Last March, all business expectations indicators remained within the optimistic range, showing mixed results compared to the previous month, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported.

The indicator measuring expectations for economic performance over the next three months rose from 50.2 points in February to 52 points in March.

Expectations for the next 12 months increased from 59.7 to 60 points over the same period, remaining within the optimistic range.

Sector expectations showed a favorable performance.

The three-month index stood at 55 points in March, one point higher than in February, while the 12-month indicator went up from 62 to 62.1 points.

The indicator measuring expectations regarding their companies' situation over the next three months went from 57.4 points in February to 57.1 points in March.

Meanwhile, the 12-month indicator declined from 67.2 to 65.1 points between the two months.

Demand, employment, and investment

Regarding demand for their products, the three-month index rose from 59.2 to 61.4 points between February and March.

Meanwhile, the 12-month indicator decreased from 70.4 to 68.8 points during the same period.

Last March, the index measuring expectations for hiring over the next three months increased from 54.7 to 54.9 points compared to February.

Over a 12-month horizon, it stood at 60.7 points in March, down from 63.5 points the previous month.

In addition, the investment index for companies over the next three months rose from 57.3 points in February to 60.3 points in March, remaining within the optimistic range.

Over 12 months, it decreased to 65.1 points in March, after reaching 65.8 points in the previous month.
