on Sunday took part in the flag-raising ceremony and the singing of the national anthem at San Martin Square in downtown Lima.
This activity is part of the provisions set out in Supreme Decree No. 127-2025-PCM.
It establishes the mandatory flag raising and national anthem singing on Sundays at the main squares of the different municipalities at 8:00 a.m. (local time), with the presence of the community's mayor.
Likewise, in all other public entities, this activity must be held on Mondays at the same time, with the presence of the highest authority of each institution.
On this occasion, the Head of State was accompanied by Prime Minister Ernesto Alvarez; Defense Minister Cesar Diaz; Lima Metropolitan Area Mayor Renzo Reggiardo; Joint Command of the Armed Forces Chief David Ojeda, Peruvian Army Commander General Cesar Briceño; Peruvian Navy Commander General Javier Bravo de Rueda; Peruvian Air Force Commander General Mario Leon; Peruvian National Police Commander General Oscar Arriola; among other police authorities and Serenazgo (municipal security forces) members.
After the event, President Jeri held a meeting with the aforementioned mayor at Lima Metropolitan Municipality (MML) headquarters to address matters of common interest related to citizen security, the capital's development, and related issues.
Previously, the Head of State had taken part in the flag-raising and national anthem ceremony held in Lima's Jesus Maria district.
