The government's spokesperson highlighted the unprecedented deployment of security forces to safeguard the process and provide the necessary support for citizens to vote freely and orderly.

Therefore, he noted, the Interior Ministry has mobilized more than 61,000 police agents.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces will deploy more than 45,000 personnel and 10,338 patrol units nationwide to ensure order at over 10,000 polling places to be installed during the voting day.

The Cabinet chief emphasized that the deployment aims to ensure public order and protect voting materials with neutrality and transparency.

In that regard, Arroyo stressed that the government led by President Jose Maria Balcazar maintains its unwavering commitment to citizen security and the democratic transition to guarantee a transparent electoral process.

The Prime Minister underscored the coordinated work of the Executive Branch with electoral bodies, respecting their autonomy and providing the necessary logistical support to ensure the process unfolds without setbacks.

Lastly, he called on citizens to participate massively in Sunday's General Elections and, therefore, strengthen the democratic system.

"Citizens of Peru: an informed and conscious vote is the most powerful tool to strengthen our democracy. The country's future is decided this Sunday, and this government is here to ensure that decision is respected in a framework of peace and order," Arroyo pointed out.
