In an anti-narcotics operation, the
dealt a blow to criminal organizations in Samugari district, La Mar province, Ayacucho region, where authorities seized 360 kilograms of drugs and nearly 3,450 kg of coca leaf undergoing maceration.
This operation was led by the Special Operators Groups (GOOEE) of the "Lince" Special Command Company No. 2, part of the Army's 2nd Infantry Brigade, in coordination with the Peruvian National Police and under the supervision of the Public Ministry (Prosecutor's Office).
During the deployment, security forces located and raided a clandestine facility used for the production of cocaine alkaloid.
At the site, authorities found an active maceration pit containing approximately 3,450 kg of coca leaf undergoing processing and around 5,000 kg of detritus.
They also identified two decantation pits equipped for the chemical processing of drugs.
As a result of the operation, 360 kg of cocaine sulfate stored in large-capacity containers were seized.
All material found was destroyed and incinerated at the site, in accordance with Legislative Decree No. 1100 and in the presence of Public Ministry representatives.
"This latest blow reaffirms the operational capacity of the Armed Forces and their determination to continue confronting drug trafficking in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (Vraem)," Ministry of Defense reported.
