The Peruvian Government's political decision to reactivate the economy and unlock emblematic projects produces results, the
President of the Republic Dina Boluarte said on Monday.
Mrs. Boluarte made these remarks while participating in the ceremony marking the commencement of operations of the new air traffic control tower and the second runway at Jorge Chavez International Airport.
"If there is political will and we want the country to continue growing, we must remove all the obstacles and make projects viable," she stated.
The country's top official indicated that the Executive Branch will continue to seek the good for Peru.
Moreover, she underscored that the new air traffic control tower and second landing strip mark a milestone on the national arena, as they are high-impact infrastructure projects for the future of the country.
"The strength of a country is also measured by its ability to carry out large infrastructure works, like the one we see today, works that will boost growth and progress, that will boost the economy, and that will provide great opportunities for Peruvians," she asserted.
With the implementation of these works, Jorge Chavez Airport will have the capacity to receive 30 million passengers a year and insure its operations.
In addition, this will be essential to schedule and enable humanitarian flights that will make it possible to assist those affected by rains, floods, and other natural phenomena.
President Boluarte highlighted the fact that the country is moving forward despite the difficulties and does not cede to pressures from those who aim to drag it to the precipice.
"Our country is leaving standstill and inefficiency behind and is building its future," she added.
