The Peruvian representatives were part of Group A along with pairs from Chile, Ecuador, and another Peruvian team, achieving victories in all their group stage matches.

In the semifinals, Gaona and Allcca faced the Paraguayan duo in a decisive match for a place in the final. Despite their effort, they lost 2 sets to 0 (21-14, 21-14), but they still had the chance to fight for third place on the podium.

In the match for the bronze medal, the Peruvians went up against the Argentine duo, who had just lost to Brazil. With determination and good play, Gaona and Allcca managed to prevail in a close match that ended 2 sets to 1, with scores of 21-13, 16-21, and 15-12, thus securing a valuable medal for the country.

At the end of the match, Lisbeth Allcca shared her excitement about the result: “Very happy, it was quite a difficult match. We knew how to push through, we knew how to manage it by doing things well from the beginning, and everything went well,” she stated.

For her part, Claudia Gaona highlighted the mental strength shown after the semifinal loss to Paraguay: “It was a mentally tough match, also recovering from a semifinal that was difficult, but we knew how to close the match and win it,” she said.
