Starting today, April 19, the use of face shields —in addition to face masks— is mandatory for citizens entering markets, supermarkets, shopping centers, and department stores, according to
"In all cases, the use of a face mask is mandatory to circulate on public roads, as well as the use of an easy face shield to enter establishments at risk of crowding, such as: shopping centers, markets, supermarkets, arcades, and retail stores," the regulation reads.
Until now, the face shield was only required for public transportation.
In this regard,
Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez justified the use of a face shield in closed spaces "since it has been shown that infections are caused by aerosols. The face shield gives us additional protection to prevent infection," she said.

Thus, curfew will be in force from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
Besides, mobility is prohibited on Sundays April 25, May 2, and 9, as well as the circulation of private vehicles.
Casinos and gyms are closed, and restaurant capacity limit has been reduced to 20%.
Because of the vaccination of adults aged above 80, the
Ministry of Health specified that —on April 25— facilities will be provided for the circulation of private cars in order to take older adults to vaccination centers.
