Peru: New Ministerial Cabinet sworn in

The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar Zelada, on Tuesday afternoon administered the oath of office to members of the new Cabinet led by Prime Minister Luis Enrique Arroyo Sanchez.

During the ceremony, the supreme resolution accepting the resignation of ex-Prime Minister Denisse Miralles Miralles and of former Cabinet members was read aloud.

(*) It must be noted that 13 State ministers from the previous Cabinet remain in their posts.

Balcazar Zelada took office on February 18 through a presidential succession, after being elected by Congress as head of the Legislative Branch.

Today's swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima.
