Mortgage credit experienced a growth of 7.8% in January 2023 over the same month last year, maintaining the dynamism observed in recent months, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported on Monday.
The monthly variation in January was 0.3%, the issuing entity reported.
This type of credit was being favored by the year-on-year increase in mortgage loans granted in Peruvian Soles, whose growth rate was 9.3% in January, it explained.
In monthly terms, mortgage credit in Peruvian Soles grew 0.3% in January, the BCR indicated.
In addition, the dollarization rate of mortgage credit stood at 8.9% in January 2023, lower by 0.1 percentage point than the previous month.
Compared to the level observed in January 2022, said dollarization decreased by 1.3 percentage points, it concluded.
