The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Peruvian Agency for International Cooperation (APCI), and the National Superintendence of Migrations have joined forces to launch a project that will modernize and enhance the migration platform thanks to a US$10 million economic cooperation.

The project will be implemented from 2025 to 2029, during which a transfer of knowledge and technology will take place to benefit the National Superintendence of Migrations, boosting the digital transformation process the institution is committed to.

The technology transfer, which includes new software for immigration and naturalization processes as well as a new data center, will allow for strengthening migration services and, consequently, national security at border control points.

"The modernization we are starting with KOICA's support will provide us with a cutting-edge migration control and management system, featuring state-of-the-art technology, bringing us on par with the most advanced countries," Garcia specified.

"Thus, we are working to rebuild the technological foundations of (the National Superintendence of) Migrations, in an effort that will outlast future administrations of our institution," he added.

"Beyond being technological assistance, the project will promote the digital transition of migration services and play a key role in implementing a modern entry and exit system that meets international standards," Chang stated.

In turn, Pantoja highlighted the work promoted by the Peruvian State through APCI.

"It is a complementary contribution to national development efforts, through the funding of projects generated by initiatives from authorities committed to the country's development," she concluded.
