Peru expresses condolences to U.S. for over 180 lives lost due to Hurricane Helene

The Government of Peru expressed its deep condolences to the Government and people of the United States of America for the more than 180 lives lost following the devastating passage of Hurricane Helene, which affected six States, especially North Carolina.

"Peru expresses hopes that search and rescue teams will be able to locate those who are still missing alive, and expresses its solidarity with the affected families," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a communiqué released on Wednesday night.

It was also reported that the Peruvian government agency is in constant communication with its Consulates General in Miami, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C. to provide due attention and humanitarian assistance to our fellow citizens who may have been affected.
