Soccer player Pedro Aquino said he's going for redemption with Alianza Lima this year, predicting he'll do great because, unlike last season, he'll start training from scratch.
He also praised coach Pablo Guede, saying he's a manager who gets his teams playing well.
Aquino stated that one of his main goals is to earn a starting position in 2026 and he's convinced he'll achieve it because he's starting from scratch, unlike last year.
"I'm working very hard to start the 2026 season in the best way possible. We've had two very intense training sessions and we've really welcomed our new teammates," Aquino said.
He also indicated that he is convinced he will do much better this year and acknowledged that he couldn't demonstrate the full extent of his game due to the lack of a strong preseason.
"I wasn't playing in Mexico and I didn't have a good preseason. That's what, in a way, made things a little difficult for me. But now, starting from scratch, I think I'll do very well," he stated.
The Alianza Lima midfielder expressed his confidence in coach Pablo Guede, because he observed that his teams played good football while in Mexico.
"I already had the opportunity to meet coach Guede in Mexico and I know that his teams have played well. I hope that will be no exception at Alianza Lima. He's coming with a lot of desire and enthusiasm, and I think he'll do things the best way," he concluded.
