The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Thursday assured Cosco Shipping Corporation Limited that Peru relies on legal, social, and political stability that guarantees investments.

Similarly, the Head of State underscored that the South American country is at a good moment for said company to continue establishing commercial relations in various sectors.

During a meeting held with Board Chairman Wan Min, Peru's President reaffirmed her Government's commitment to honoring and respecting the commitments adopted in 2021 with Cosco Shipping Corporation Limited for the construction of Chancay Megaport —a project that leads Peru to become the first logistics center in the South American Pacific.

Mrs. Boluarte highlighted the reliability proven by the Chinese company in the construction of this megaport.

"We offer a range of opportunities so that you can become interested in other types of projects and, therefore, continue strengthening bilateral business relations," she indicated.

The Peruvian president emphasized that Chancay Megaport will be inaugurated in November, with the presence of her counterpart from the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

Mrs. Boluarte indicated that, in order to strengthen this work, the implementation of the Ancon industrial zone is planned.

"Hopefully, an electric vehicle assembly plant can be set up there, in the interest of both Peru and China to take care of the environment. In our country, we host copper and lithium," she stated.

Similarly, she recognized the commitment that fellow businesspeople have towards Peru's development.

As is known, the leaders of the main guilds, such as the Peruvian Exporters Association (ADEX); the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (CONFIEP); the National Society of Mining, Oil, and Energy (SNMPE); the National Chamber of Commerce, Production, Tourism, and Services (Perucamaras); the Automotive Association of Peru (AAP); and others have joined her in this State Visit to China.

The top official recalled that, as part of the need to promote private investment, her administration had unlocked important projects, such as Chinecas, Chavimochic, Majes, and Alto Piura, which will enable the agricultural frontier to be expanded.
