Singapore will increase its international trade with Peru, especially in Peruvian fruit imports to supply its local market,
The Peruvian high-ranking official said
international trade with Asia was one of the topics discussed at the
APEC Finance Ministers meeting,
based on the enormous possibility of shortening the number of days that ships travel from the Port of Chancay, Peru, to Shanghai, China.
"Our friends from Singapore told us that they are going to make the most of this opportunity, as they have a very well-developed logistics sector," the minister stated.
"In fact, trade between Peru and Singapore will increase over time and, obviously, being a small island, they will also be large buyers of our fruits, which will probably arrive in less time and in better quality," he emphasized.
APEC Finance Ministerial Meeting
He said this position taken by the Finance ministers
"not only reaffirms our firm commitment to the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040" but also underlines the importance of imagining and fostering an Asia-Pacific region that is more sustainable, more digital, more resilient, and more focused on APEC issues.
"This year, APEC economies are seeking to foster an Asia-Pacific region, despite the distances, that is much more sustainable, more digital, more resilient, and more focused on the problems of the APEC region, so that we can adequately address the opportunities and challenges that our economies are currently experiencing," he detailed.
