FA Min: Peru promotes Alberto Borea's candidacy to IACHR Court

Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea announced that he has been making calls to his counterparts from various countries in the region to promote the candidacy of Alberto Borea for judge of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR Court).

"Foreign Affairs ministers are being called to promote Alberto Borea's candidacy as magistrate of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights," he said in remarks to reporters, adding that this morning he had two pre-scheduled calls.

Gonzalez-Olaechea recalled that, during the Council of Ministers session held yesterday, he had to attend other calls with his foreign peers to discuss this issue.

As is known, Peru presented Alberto Borea as a candidate for the position of Judge of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights for 2025-2030.

On the other hand, the Cabinet member specified that the exact date of the arrival of Chinese President Xi Jinping in Peru has yet to be confirmed. 


"The exact date, since it will be a State visit, is to be confirmed and would be held on a day before or after the (APEC Leaders’) Summit, because it needs the attention that corresponds to the protocol of a State visit, according to Torre Tagle procedures," he said.
