Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea on Monday stated that what lies ahead for Venezuela should be democracy and freedom. Similarly, he considered that the beginning of Chavismo's fall is being witnessed.

The government official said there is a democratic solution to the situation in the South American country, but that it sometimes takes time.

He indicated that this solution can sometimes be provided through open diplomatic channels or other means, personalities, or countries that have an open door to dialogue with Nicolas Maduro, since he and his group have broken relations with all nations that oppose their regime.

The Cabinet member said it is a "factual impossibility" for them to show the voting records and reiterated that Edmundo Gonzalez is the president-elect.

Likewise, Minister Gonzalez-Olaechea expressed his categorical rejection of the acts of violence that have occurred over recent days in Venezuela.

Furthermore, he extended his solidarity to the Venezuelan people, especially to the families of victims of protests registered in that country.

Moreover, the minister noted that Peru and all nations committed to finding a solution to this situation are very active in their efforts, 24 hours a day.

"(Are we witnessing the beginning of the fall of Chavismo?) In my opinion, absolutely. What lies ahead for Venezuela should be the democracy and freedom that all free people and democratic governments, such as Peru, desire," Gonzalez-Olaechea told TVPeru.
