Luis Llosa to launch night show for Machu Picchu centennial celebrations

“Machu Picchu, History and Homage to a Wonder of the World" is the name of the night show to be launched by Peruvian film director Luis Llosa to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the scientific discovery of the Inca citadel to the world.


On Friday, Llosa, one of the most renowned Peruvian film directors and producers, will offer a press conference to provide information on this show to be held on July 7 at the historic citadel.

The press conference will take place in the Paracas Room of the Ministry of Culture, located in the district of San Borja at 10:45 am.

The three main sponsors of this important celebration: Backus, Camisea and Telefónica of Peru, will also take part in the announcement.

Luis Llosa is the cousin of Peruvian writer and Nobel Laureate Mario Vargas Llosa and is the director of Iguana Producciones.

Films directed by Llosa include Crime Zone (1988), Sniper (1993), Eight Hundred Leagues on the Amazon (1993), Fire on the Amazon (1993), The Specialist (1994)
Anaconda (1997), and The Feast of the Goat (2005).
