Peru favorite to win tonight's friendly against Ecuador

14:52 | New Jersey (U.S.), Sep. 5.

Peru's national soccer team will play against Ecuador in an international friendly match on the FIFA date tonight in New Jersey (United States).

The Incas are seen as the favorites to win the game after a very well-played Copa America, where Gareca's team finished as runner-up.

Peru's all-time leading goal scorer Paolo Guerrero will not play as he asked not to be called up for this match.

As for the Ecuador side, several players have been replaced, which could also tilt the balance in favor of Peruvians.

The clash will be staged at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey at 9:00 PM (local time) and will help gauge the red-white squad's World Cup preparedness.

Possible lineups:

Peru: Pedro Gallese, Luis Advincula, Anderson Santamaria, Luis Abram, Miguel Trauco, Renato Tapia, Pedro Aquino, Andre Carrillo, Edison Flores, Christian Cueva, and Raul Ruidiaz. Coach: Ricardo Gareca.

Ecuador: Pedro Ortiz, Andres Lopez, Dario Aimar, Xavier Arreaga, Mario Pineida, Jefferson Orejuela, Jose Cifuentes, Fernando Gaibor, Junior Sornoza, Alexander Alvarado, and Michael Estrada. Coach: Jorge Célico.
