Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski participated in the christening and launch ceremony for Peruvian Navy ship BAP Pisco at Callao Naval Base.
The event featured Defense Minister Jorge Nieto and Navy Commander General Admiral Gonzalo Rios.
The multipurpose ship was built at Navy Industrial Services (SIMA) shipyards.
During the ceremony, Mr. Kuczynski welcomed Congress' approval of the Executive's proposed "
Reconstruction with Changes" bill and said his administration will get to work immediately.
"Today the Congress adopted, by a large majority, the reconstruction bill that we are about to work on. We have a lot of work to do," the 78-year-old statesman said.
