The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appointed Ambassador Maria Cecilia Rozas Ponce de Leon as new Consul-General of Peru in Toronto, Canada.

Corresponding letters patent were issued to the diplomat in accordance with supreme resolution No 059-2017-RE, published today in the official gazette El Peruano.

A subsequent vice-ministerial resolution will set the date on which the new consul will officially take up her duties.

The document was inked by Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna.

Rozas Ponce de Leon will replace Mary Ann Silva de Espinoza, who served in Toronto since 30 December 2015.
