United States Nevada State Governor Brian Sandoval recently paid a visit to Peru for meetings with various authorities to address a work agenda covering foreign trade, investments, tourism, science, technology, energy, mining and health.

The Nevada State chief arrived joined by a delegation of Nevada officials, businesspersons and representatives of leading academic institutions.

The delegation began its tour in the Inca country last July 24 with a visit to Cusco arranged by the Peruvian Foreign Affairs Ministry.

While in the Imperial City, Governor Sandoval held a meeting with Cusco Regional Governor Edwin Licona, who was accompanied by representatives of the Peruvian Agency of International Cooperation.

The U.S. official also met with Carlos Aguilar, representative of Cusco Province City Hall.

During the said meetings, the parties agreed to maintain ongoing dialogue in order to identify inter-institutional cooperation opportunities between the Government —and other institutions— of the State of Nevada and Cusco's Regional Government and Municipality.

Collaboration will cover sustainable water management, solar energy, tourism promotion and strengthening of Peruvian fire departments, particularly those specialized in wildfires.

Governor Sandoval and his delegation then headed to Lima for meetings with public and private institutions.
