In the framework of Milan city’s Expo in Cittá fair, the "Peru, feeds your soul" program issued a new invitation to join cook Mitsuharu Tsumura, one of Japanese-Peruvian gastronomy's most outstanding representatives.

Tsumura and local Chef Daniel Canzian introduced dishes featuring Italian as well as traditional Peruvian-Japanese fusion at restaurant 'Daniel'. Star ingredients were native potatoes, Cajamarca city's Porcon community mushrooms, rocoto (spicy pepper) and black quinoa.

The entrée included octopus in olive oil with crispy black quinoa and a rice biscuit, followed by limpet ceviche accompanied with shells and a jelly-roll stuffed with Leche de Tigre. Likewise, rocoto relleno (beef-filled pepper) and tempura-fried steak were introduced. Finally, short ribs, native potatoes and Porcon mushrooms were served.

Peruvian dishes and ingredients seduced the palates of visitors. Among attendees were the Editor of the L'espresso food & wine, Eleonora Cozzella; the Food and Beverage Manager at the Armani Hotel Milano Milan, Roberto Di Pierno; Corriere della Sera newspaper journalist, Michela Proietti and recognized expert Ludovico Roccatello.

The Peruvian community also enjoyed this event by remembering the country's flavors.

The program "Peru, feeds your soul" is organized by Peru’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister through PromPeru (Peru's Export and Tourism Promotion Board) in coordination with Milan-based Peru's Commercial Office (OCEX Milan). Its objective is to present the best of the Peruvian cuisine during Expo Milano 2015.
