Peru's Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) informed Peruvian pisco is now available at Metro, a large supermarket chain in Moscow.
Promotional efforts to expand the Peruvian distilled beverage in
Russia have yielded good results, expanding its reach in the Russian
retail industry.
The Peruvian national drink is displayed at shelves under the brand "Barsol" of Bodega San Isidro pisco distillery.
Peru's Trade Office in Moscow (Ocex Moscow) affirmed Metro is planning to sell the spirit in more than 100 locations across the country.
The entry of
Peruvian pisco into the market is the result of a market development strategy and promotional actions in cooperation with renowned bartenders from different regions of Russia, including Sochi, Saint Petersburg and Moscow.
For instance, the first edition of "Peru Week" was presented earlier this year to get the attention of Russian importers and travel agencies. Plus, it was a great opportunity to showcase what Peru has to offer.
A seminar on spirituous drinks and wines —aimed at potential buyers in this market— took place as part of this event.
