The Peruvian Embassy in Australia sponsored a tasting of pisco-based cocktails on August 25 at the exclusive Hyatt Hotel Canberra's tea lounge.
The cocktails were prepared by Peruvian pisco connoisseur Diomedes Arango, who has promoted the flagship spirit through close to 300 tastings in the Inca country and around the world.
This time, Arango fixed some drinks for more than 200 Australians, who were also provided with the recipes to recreate
Chilcanos, Pisco Sours and Quinoa Sours at home.
Attendees also had the opportunity to learn about pisco production in Peru's central and southern coastal regions, renowned internationally since the late 16th century.
As is known, Peru's flagship product
pisco is a brandy type of drink made out of grapes.
It has reached new
markets like Australia, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, India, Israel, Norway and the United Arab Emirates, among others.
