A group of Peruvian cacao producers represented the Inca country and had an outstanding participation at the "Salon du Chocolat" held in Brussels on March 2-4.
The delegation that joined this event was composed of Cooperativa Agroindustrial Paraiso members from Huanuco region.
This enterprise is a beneficiary organization of the Agriculture and Irrigation Ministry's (Minagri) Competitiveness Compensation Program (Agroideas).
It must be noted Cooperativa Agroindustrial Paraiso currently has 135 partners, who own 350 hectares of
cacao located in said region's Marañon province.
At the event, Agroideas General Manager Ferly Anchahua promoted Peruvian
cacao's quality and fine aroma. This grain is widely demanded in the European market.
Peruvian participation at
Salon du Chocolat was intended to foster its consumption worldwide and represented 1,200 cacao producers from the Alto Huallaga area.
Deemed as the world's largest meeting dedicated to chocolate and cacao, Salon du Chocolat brought together the best chocolatiers in the industry, cooperatives, individual producers, exporters, and SMEs seeking internationalization.
