Peru's Grande gets gold at The World Games

Peruvian karateka Alexandra Grande on Wednesday grabbed gold medal at The World Games 2017 taking place in Poland on July 20-30.

27-year-old Grande participated in Women's Kumite 61 Kg category. 

The national athlete gave a remarkable performance at said competition by defeating Ukrainian Anita Serogina in the final fight. 

Previously, Grande beat Australian Kristina Mah and Slovak Ingrida Suchankova.

It must be noted the national sportswoman won gold in Women's -61 kg category at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games. 

About the Games 

The World Games denote a multi-sport event staged every four years by the International World Games Association under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee.
