Peru's export sector has shown a steady progress since mid-2016, Peruvian Exporters Association (ADEX) Chairman Juan Varilias highlighted.
Varilias stressed public and private sectors must join efforts to pursue an agenda aimed at industrial activities.
According to ADEX head, attention should be focused on shipments.
The
export sector must be seen as the first engine of growth in Peru, as in 2004-2006, he said.
In this sense, said segment can play a crucial role in the creation of jobs, thus contributing to the dynamism of the domestic market.
Markets
China, the United States, Switzerland, India, and Japan were Peru's top traditional export destinations during the first eight months of the year.
Other major destinations are the Netherlands, Ecuador, Chile, Spain, Colombia and Bolivia.
