Peru's traditional exports totaled US$3.059 billion in November 2017, a 28.7% increase from the same month the previous year, Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported.

Said increase was mainly underpinned by higher shipments of copper, zinc, and gold.

Traditional products' average prices rose 20%, due to metal prices increase on the international market.

Copper (+34.7%), zinc (+34.6%), and gold (+3.8%) stood out in this sense.

Additionally, the shipped volume of traditional products grew 7.3%, mostly explained by greater foreign sales of copper (+13.7%), gold (+8.4%), zinc (+4.1%), coffee (+3.4%), and fishmeal (+33.6%).

At the regional level, higher shipments to Asia (+56.1%) —mainly China (+49.6%)—, North America (+26.9%) —the United States (+46.2%)—, and Mercosur (+9.1%) were registered in the analyzed month.
