The Peruvian Government on Monday extended its heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the United States over the casualties and damage caused by devastating Hurricane Harvey in the State of Texas.

In a release, the Peruvian Foreign Ministry also expressed its solidarity with victims' families, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery of affected areas.

According to the Peruvian Consulate General in Houston, there have been no reports of fellow Peruvians among the affected.

Still, the institution continues to provide information and guidance to the U.S.-based national community via social media.

In this sense, the Consulate General remains vigilant so as to provide assistance to nationals if required.
