The Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF) made an official statement on Paolo Guerrero's suspension imposed by FIFA, showing support for the national striker and noting his professionalism.
The FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided to
suspend Guerrero for a year after analyzing the adverse analytical result of the anti-doping test conducted on him following a match against Argentina on October 5.
In addition, the Inca country's top soccer body informed of a meeting with the goalscorer's family on Friday morning.
"The FPF expresses regret and sympathy for the difficult situation Paolo Guerrero is going through. We reiterate our trust in
Paolo's personal and professional quality," reads the first part of the statement.
"We appreciate his great contribution to the national team as captain and leader of the group," it adds.
Likewise, it induced citizens to trust the judicial bodies of the world soccer's system.
"Today, we received Paolo's family and spoke to him with certainty that soccer and Peruvians can overcome adversities, as we have been doing.
#FuerzaPaolo," the federation concluded.
