Peru ranks 6th among countries requesting 2018 World Cup tickets

20:44 | Zurich (Switzerland), Jan. 26.

Peru ranks 6th among countries that have submitted most ticket applications for the 2018 World Cup, Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) revealed on Friday.

The ranking also comprises Russia, Germany, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Poland, Spain, Colombia, USA and the Netherlands.

FIFA pointed out most of the requests have come from Russia, whereas the international demand accounts for 45% of the total.

According to the soccer governing body, 4,021,211 tickets have been requested since the start of the current sales period on December 5, 2017.

Likewise, fans can apply for individual match tickets for all matches —except for the opening match and final.

Also, they can request venue-specific tickets for all stadiums, as well as supporter tickets and conditional supporter tickets for all 32 teams.

If the number of tickets requested by 31 January 2018 exceeds the number of available tickets, the allocation will be based on a random selection draw procedure, with fans being informed of its outcome by mid-March 2018 at the latest.

The sales window will close at 12:00 (Moscow time) on 31 January.
