Peru's garment exports will experience recovery thanks to the quality and price of its clothing items, the Association of Peruvian Exporters (Adex) projected.

According to Adex Manufacturing Management section, said exports totaled US$272 million in 2017's first four-month period. However, the figure meant a 1.8% decrease over the same term last year.

The United States is the top destination for those shipments, followed by Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Remarks were made during the "Match Making Garment sector" international business round held in Lima.

The event was organized by Adex in partnership with COTTON USA, an organization that promotes U.S. cotton fiber and related products around the globe.

COTTON USA operates in more than 50 countries through 20 offices worldwide. Its main office is based in Washington D.C.
