Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski called on the Executive, the Parliament and the Judiciary to work together and facilitate the execution of infrastructure works in favor of the country, mainly of the most deprived areas.

Speaking at a sailing ceremony of an Itinerant Social Action Platform (PIAS) in Lake Titicaca, the Head of State regretted that several investment projects get halted due to State bureaucracy.

For instance, he referred to the Lake Titicaca clean-up project involving the construction of 10 water treatment facilities —to make sure the water entering the lake is clean of industrial waste and sewage water— which is not completed due to bureaucratic formalities even though 14 months have passed since its launch.

A similar situation has occurred with the Juliaca-Puno road project, whose construction is completely halted.

"[…] We all have to work and cooperate: The Congress, the Executive Power and the Judiciary. We cannot use incomprehensible pettifogging reasons as an excuse when projects cry out for progress," he stated.

The 79-year-old statesman warned Peru will grind to a halt if the situation remains unchanged.

"But I know it won't, and that's why I'm here […] we all have to work and help," he added.
