Taking care of the environment must involve the participation of the government, other institutions and people, Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski affirmed.

"The environment is a matter of great global importance [...]," Peru's top official stated.

"It is an issue, on which not only the citizen must help, but also the government," he added.

Within this framework, the Head of State highlighted the upcoming visit of Pope Francis, "a great environmentalist who will boost this effort we have been making."

As is known, Pope Francis will visit the Inca nation on January 18-21, 2018. His trip will include cities Lima, Puerto Maldonado and Trujillo.

Remarks were made during his TV program titled "Conversando con el Presidente" (A Conversation with the President), which featured Environment Minister Elsa Galarza on the occasion.
